Peter Henry Emerson - Text from 'Pictures From Life in Field and Fen'

From 1886 to 1895 Peter Henry Emerson produced a rich archive of limited edition books and portfolios, all photographically illustrated.

Pictures from Life in Field and Fen which was published by George Bell and Sons, London in 1887.

This portfolio had twenty photogravures (shown here) with an introduction by P. H. Emerson - this introduction is shown here.

The De-luxe edition was limited to 50 numbered copies and cost, £5.5s each and the Ordinary edition was limited to 200 copies at £1.2s each.
