Great to see these pictures getting a wider audience. It would be great to see the Daily Herald pictures out here too. How about taking all the images taken by the Daily Herald photographers on a particular day ? Please choose from the negatives that are most in danger of self-destructing.....

It is an idealised view of the rural poor, I wonder if the scene was set up for the photogrpaher? I guess those children received very little real education.

If you look closely you can see they are all actually fast asleep. Except for the old lady. The little boy sound asleep while standing. I'm sure the old lady put something in their kool aid. It could also be a rare case of heat stroke...or maybe a combination of both.
