For those who might not know, Frank Hurley often made 'composite' images. That is, this image is made up of multiple negatives with the purpose of showing 'how he saw it' rather than 'what the camera actually recorded'.

There is a documentary up on YouTube about him, just key in 'frank hurley part1'.
