This is a good idea and should be implemented in all guns used by the NYPD. It could serve as crucial evidence in cases debating necessary use of lethal force. I would go one step further and add video and sound recording that is activated as soon as the gun is drawn from the holster. There should be a way to transmit the video/photo to a main computer on board the police car and or police precinct in case the gun is lost. This can protect both police officers and civilians from being wrongly accused, specially when no witnesses are involved.
