When first saw this picture (I was in fact hunting for a photo of an S.E. I, an aeroplane of 1911). I said to myself "I don't believe it." As a young sprog of 8 yrs I recall being taken to see a captured U-Boat on the Thames near Tower Bridge, but it was in 1946. I can still recall the ingrained smell of engine oil, diesel and unwashed bodies. Just as well I didn't believe it, but it has certainly brought back long forgotten memories.

Great image, what an impressive boat. Looks like they relied more on their deck cannons than on torpedos and I think they had torpedos in WW1.
