Part of the reason I have been so busy lately :)

This is a shot I had been thinking about doing for a while. I actually took one very similar to this (in the composition and DoF aspect) while we were in California earlier this summer. Then I got the idea to blast my speedlight through a bottle from the side, casting the shadow of the bottle on the floor.

I am almost caught up with my P52 now. I have one more make up pic to post, and then of course the photo for this week as well.

Strobist Info: SB-600 fired at 1/16 power. Flash placed to the right of subject and camera, and about 2 feet above subject. Triggered with Cactus V4's.

Some of you may have noticed that I have been MIA on Flickr lately. Life has gotten in the way, and my creativity tank has been running close to empty. I haven't picked up my camera much at all, which makes it, in a way, similar to my guitar... another hobby that has been pushed aside for a period of time. The guitar, however, has been collecting a lot more dust than my camera. And though I would like to get back into playing, when I find time to squeeze a hobby into my busy life these days, I'm going to pick up my camera.
