I was a lab assistant for microbiology one semester and REALLY hated cleaning test tubes...especially when there was "red stuff" growing in them. Nice clean shot midlander!

I started out cleaning test tubes too. :| I cringe at the smell of LB.

Dreamerofmeaning: Autoclaves are scary. I'm always worried that someone will push me in one when I am loading stuff. JJ :P

I'm opening a restaurant that serves nothing that hasn't been cooked via autoclave!

Hahaha... I read on an Invitrogen poster, that you can *steam crabs* in an autoclave. I think that'd taste good, as long as you didn't autoclave biohazardous waste in it beforehand... Hahaha...

we used to autoclave things just for fun at work... oh, the days of autoclaving broccolli just to see if it works as a vegetable steamer- no questions... in between running IEF and PCR gels you gotta keep yourself amused...:-)

My god, I had no idea people got so crazy with autoclaves!!! I personally would never want my food anywhere near that media-tainted monstrosity, but hey, sometimes I do think culture broth smells kind of like boullion...

Hahaha... Oh the things we do in the lab when we're bored. Have you ever tried dropping things in liquid nitrogen? It's kinda fun. Also, latex gloves make nice ballons...

Nate C  Pro User  says:

Absolutely. We use liquid nitrogen all the time to freeze things before we lyophilize them, so I get to freeze things all the time.
