Yesterday was an absolute blast. I had been collaborating with a store downtown called the Eclectic. They're a vintage/consignment furniture store with all sorts of treasures. They were hoping to create some promotional materials for some local magazines and what better to help them sell then a stunning model in male-vintage attire?! Our male models bailed, so we improvised! I think plan B turned out WAY better.
This was also the first time I've played with strobes. I borrowed a friend's Alien Bee and it was fairly simple. The sync cord that was needed for my receiver was MIA so we just plugged the long alien bee sync cord straight into my camera. It worked, but I felt like I was chained to the light. Gonna have to buy a roll and light for myself! Using Kelli's equipment made the shoot much easier than a strobe. Medium octagon softbox and alien be to camera left. We had it on about a 1/4 power.
