Memory Lane: 3745 Kings Highway

Memory Lane: 3745 Kings Highway by NatalieMaynor.
This is the house I lived in from age five until going out into the world on my own. It looks quite different now. It used to be brown, didn't have the picket fence in front, and had a wonderful mimosa tree that I loved to climb. The mimosa would have been in the left foreground of this picture if it still existed. I do, of course, remember quite well the oak shown in this picture. It was first base when we played baseball in the front yard. The window on the right was my bedroom window.

I lived in Jackson as a child many years ago. My piano teacher lived on Kings Highway. Maybe you knew her. She and her husband were older already in the late 50's and early 60's, so I'm guessing their house turned over to new owners many years ago.

I don't remember a piano teacher in the neighborhood. There are two Kings Highways in Jackson -- or rather Kings Highway is in two segments that don't connect. Maybe she was on the Kings Highway farther north -- it connects Meadowbrook and Northside Dr. and then goes a block or two farther north. The one I lived on turns off of Old Canton Road. Our house was close to where Avondale intersects with Kings Highway -- between Seneca and Warrior Trail.

I pass this house quite often. I live on Mohawk Avenue at the end of Kings Highway. My wife and I love living here.
