A capacity crowd at theVisitor Center at Goddard Space Flight Center watched as the Curiosity rover touched down on Mars at 1:30am after a journey of nearly nine months and millions of miles. Goddard built and tested Curiosity's SAM instrument suite, which will analyze the Red Planet's soil chemistry.
