right, jbuddenh, 40D with the 50mm macro lens
+ 56mm extension. i was getting ready to
photograph the springtails when i spotted the
boatman and didn't have time to remove either
extension tube. was afraid i'd disturb it
getting so close, but it only moved from leaf
to leaf a couple of times until ru came
galloping by and it dove.
Very nice shot. I didn't realize that they
ever came out of the water. I love how your
photos really look like nature shots. Many
macro shots look like studio shots (which I
still like) but you put a good amount
emphasis on the subjects surroundings which I
think gives your photos an extra appeal.
