Del's Pizza

Papa Jim's Pizza Truck
Del's Pizza by delgaudm.
My dad circa 1972. The truck in the background was something of an
icon in Boston in the 60's and 70's. My grandfather used to have a
"Pizza Truck". He sold fresh hand-tossed pizza from that truck much
the way the ice cream man sells cones. Every morning he, my dad and
uncles used to pound pizza dough, and fold up pizza boxes until thier
fingers were raw, then Papa Jim (that's what we called my grandfather)
and one of my uncles would go out and sell pizza until dark. They had
regular stops that brought them by the fire houses, work sites
colleges and projects. Back then slices were a dime. Papa Jim's pizza
was the best I ever had.

Hi Ann -- Jim passed away in 2000. We still have the menu signs from the truck hung up in the back yard.
