I've been doing filler strips for the upcoming Mutliplex ebook collection. This is one of them. It fits between Multiplex #s 23 and 24 in the archives, so it's set in late November, 2005.
Oh yeah: for you Flickr types, Multiplex is an online comic strip about a bunch of kids who work at a movie theater.

I'd vote twice for this one if it was allowed. Great strip in both plot sense and discussion of Jane Austen to movie transfers that I agree with whole-heartedly.
Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightly was just god-awful.

Wait, you want a better version of Persuasion than the one with Amanda Poot and Ciaran Hinds? Tough standards, my man.

Perhaps I should rewatch it since I first saw it a decade ago, but I thought that one was just okay. It was certainly the best adaptation of the story I've seen, but that's the one Jason's referring when he mentions the director ruining it by trying to be clever; I remember feeling that the camerawork was annoying.
More importantly, though, I felt that the leads were poorly cast. I didn't feel any chemistry between them. Amanda Poot seemed like a wet noodle, not someone who could inspire deeply passionate love in... well, anyone -- and though I've loved Ciaran Hinds in many other films since, he seemed really stiff in Persuasion.
