Barren, but Golden. [Shot from Korzok, Ladakh]

Barren, but Golden. [Shot from Korzok, Ladakh] by MyCameraAndEye.
As the light from the setting sun penetrates ,through the small opening in the clouds, onto the barren slopes of mountains that surround the Tso Moriri.

As to the weather in Tso Moriri, all through the day I could pick between overcast and pouring. Which ,to say the least, is not a kicking weather for any photography.. So then imagine how I must have lit up when I see these small patches of orange slopes in the evening.

My friends trekked in Tso Kar - Tso Moriri route. It was considerably harder, but they were quite gloatful after doing it. Now I've a better idea why. Lucky gloatful bastards!

Pliss post more pictures..

@Om: And a beautiful place too !
@Chitra: Thanks..
@Aadhi arts: Thanks.. One of the many pleasures that Ladakh offers.
@Anoop: Great trip you mean ? Very much so !
@knownotmuch: Yes, thanks..
@Debanjan: Greeshma: Thanks.. The painting feel , I guess, comes from those smaller patches of partly dry grass in the picture (those yellowish streaks you see). These high altitude pastures (Phu as they call it) are quite a sight to see from close by.
@Sajith TS: It is not very hard to see why it left them gloated.. :) There is also another nice way to get to TsoKar (which I figured when I was leaving the area). Get off on the Morey plains on the Leh-Manali highway.. walk on the wide plateau for about 15kms - no climb involved. Bingo, you are at Thukje - a tiny village with its own monastery, some food & acco from where you can explore the TsoKar lake..
