Tiananmen Square

This June 4th will be the 17th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests in Beijing that lead to the deaths of between 400 and 2000 civilians.

I took this photo this time last year in Tiananmen Square. On the anniversary of the protests at that time, soldiers and police cleared the square altogether to prevent protests or commemoration of the event.
