Barred Owl juvenile / young / fledgling / owlet / baby - Strix varia

This baby owl was sheltered by the Cabbage Palm frond directly behind it. Handheld at 1/50 sec. I didn't use flash because I didn't want to startle the owl or hurt its eyes. Heavy crop.

 

Taken this spring in Central Florida.
