This building has an amazing and storied past
in Oregon Hill. It was the home of the
superintindent of the nearby VA State
Penitentiary for most of its history. Samuel
Parsons, the house's modern day namesake was
one such superintindent and he was heavily
involved with the Quaker Movement which
advocated for humane treatment of prisoners
and for less cruel methods of execution. It
also has probable ties to the Underground
Railroad. It was fully renovated and now
houses several condos.
