Plastic Issue

Do note my comments

Sunfeast 10k run @ Bangalore (18May2008) was a major success.
A bit shocking thing was the plastic water bottles.
There were approximately 40 thousand of them thrown at bangalore roads.
Biggest environment pollution? Alternative for water bottles must be found...

Well done, Murali. This is a shocking yet great picture. What is the use of conducting all these K runs if we do not have the basics? We have to conduct another 10K run against this plastic invasion.

I did run 10K y'day and enjoyed it.

I guess regarding the plastic bottles, it was cleaned up immediately after the event. I did happen to drive by the same roads the whole day and was clean and neat. Thanks to the good organizers.

Nice shot. Even if the plastic was cleared I think such a huge amount of plastic waste was totally uncalled for. Shall pass this snap to a few of the organizers so that they take care of such things and use more environment friendly alternatives.

It was a great event, organised well. But it was horrible to see the amount of plastic bottles used that day. Must find some alternatives.

This is an excellent photograph and a terrible fact!
All this is waste and nothing else... people have to learn to become more responsible for the waste they generate .

@ Boss: I am certain it must've been cleaned up. Its good to know too that the city and organizers are conscious of it. But what happened to the bottles eventually? That is where the environmental issue is... not in the cleanliness alone.
