Golden Gate Icon![]() I'm simply too tired to write up any description right now, so I'll have to come back to this later.
:-P EDIT: Okay, I don't know if it matters much any more, but here's what I've got to say about this shot... I took this a couple weeks back when shooting Marshall's Beach with Ivan Makarov. Where we were shooting the bridge was actually out of sight. But as the sun set and it got dark out eventually we hiked over the big rock dividing the beach and came back to the Golden Gate Bridge side. Despite taking countless photos of the bridge already, like every other SF photographer sometimes I just can't help taking another. A little earlier I got hit by a monster wave at the shore which covered my gear with sand and water. My only dry lens was my 50mm f/1.8 so I put that on the camera while I cleaned and dried everything else. Normally I'd be inclined to shoot this much wider, but since 50mm is what I had I worked with it. The 50mm lens's aperture will produce really nice sharply pointed stars around bright points of light when it's stopped down, so to get that effect here I stopped down to f/16. It's about the only thing to distinguish this shot from a shot I took here last fall which I probably like better myself. Nikon D40 | Nikkor 50mm 1.8 | f/16 | 30s | ISO200 | Tripod CommentsRolandito.
