Our First Fall Frost

Our First Fall Frost

I was entirely too excited that morning when I first came out of my cozy house and was met with a chill in the air and the first glimpse of frost on our grass. I adore the fall and winter seasons and this year, I have been especially looking forward to the holidays and colder weather. So to document my happiness, I took a few quick shots.

I hope you all are blessed with such happiness for simple things every now and again. I myself am unable to live in the moment all the time, but I do make an effort to appreciate the simple beauty in each and every day I am here and in good health. Certainly God has granted me with so many blessings; some that I have not even discovered yet. Thank you all for sharing a little bit of yourselves with me, and letting me do the same.

“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”
~J.R.R. Tolkien

"The finest qualities of our nature, like the bloom on fruits, can be preserved only by the most delicate handling."
~Henry David Thoreau

This quote really captured my attention. It is so true. So many of us have the ability to be so much more. I believe everyone and everything is initially born with unlimited potential. The deciding factor is what and who nurtures that unique potential, and brings us up to the fullest extent. It is a sad thing when I see two people very similar in age, status, and gender even who should essentially be living similar lifestyles and yet their lives couldn't get any farther from it. The difference? Each persons upbringing; their very foundation on which one can build a life, or destroy it.

Ultimately it is not ourselves who make the decisions on who we are, or what we do, or how we live. God is the initiator and finisher of all things. But we are given endless opportunities to "fill in the blanks" so to speak. Let's all hope we make the right decisions along the way in our relentless journey.
