      Loving the sky tones here.
Better than the hobbit hole, that's for sure :)

Really nice! I'm finding fireworks very difficult to photograph. I've done three displays so far and haven't got anything as good as this yet. I get the exposures right but my compositions leave a lot to be desired. This one is a lesson in how to photograph fireworks! Well done.

Gotta get a Nikon! This is really clear, with a great subject.

Excellent I really like this photo!! Brilliant!!! The sky is amazing

But how did you manage to have the people be static in this photo???

      Thanks

      ;)

Thanks everybody. The reaction to this series has been just incredible.

      @ ent - that's not what Gandalf said :)

@ AdamBoulton - it helped that a lot of the people were sitting down, and everyone was transfixed by the visuals - this meant that body movement was minimal. There was a bit of head and arm movement - I've cloned the worst of it out, but you can still see some on the bloke in the middle of the main reflection, and also the bloke above the kid on the far right of frame.

Excellent - it's awesome how all the people actually add to the intrestingness of this photo - most of the time I am tempted to yell obscenities when someone gets in the way :)

      Thanks for explaining mugley ;)

Beautiful Mugs - the dusk light is amazing although people will probably think that Melb's in Antartica as the sun is still in the sky.

      Great moment in time capture.

It has a very rich HDR quality to it as well. Given your admission to the cloning procedure, did you tweak to this wonderful result?

      Again, a great shot.

edit: Your shot has been used as eye candy for an article on fireworks statistics at Miamisburg, Ohio Community Site

Yeah, it's been tone mapped (admitted in the tags) to bring out the detail in the spectators. It's only a single exposure though, so it's not really HDR as such.
