Zoning rules in Freeport, Maine (Home of L. L. Bean) did not permit McDonald's to build one of their usual restaurants. McDonald's, there, is located in historic Victorian-styled Gore House. Seating is at early American-style wooden tables & chairs. Sometimes, you can find lobster rolls & blueberry milkshakes on the menu! Yummy! In 2012, I took some interior shots. Scan through the comments below to find them. Although no one has ever asked my permission, this photo is all over the Internet. It is one of my most-viewed images.

I've seen that in Freeport. In fact did a double take on it. Couldn't believe what I saw.

Yup, I guess there are a few McDonald's built in areas persnickety about zoning. This is the only one I've seen, though. We go there every time we visit the area.

Awesome! i love that it's not the blaring red and yellow like at all the other McDonalds. I really wish that they would find better colors...
