I registered for codeyear.com to see if it was something I would want to recommend to my students (I teach digital publishing and social media / community outreach) and I have to say, it looks promising. The instruction is simple and straightforward, and the language itself is encouraging. Go try it!

1. Today I had a morning meeting downtown, but it wound up being moved to next week. So instead I went for a wee jaunt in 50-degree weather in the gorgeous, warming sun, and I took pictures of trees and buildings and marveled at the reverberation of church bells pealing loudly and sat with pigeons who were pecking and nestling and cleaning themselves at Daley Plaza.

2. Today we welcomed a house guest who will be staying with us for the next couple of weeks, and I'm happy because he seems a lovely fellow.

3. Gia's happy as well because she clearly is smitten with him already. Utterly smitten, I tell you. And he is smitten with her, too.

4. Sensing, quite strongly, a need to return to my practice. Craving it, in fact. It has been a while.

5. Coming to terms with some decisions I made in the past few months and what they really mean for me. It's a difficult thing to do right now, but I know I'll be happier when I accept what I need to accept.
