Chocolate-Ginger Cake with Bourbon Sauce

05.03.07 - We had planned to make this cake for a party a couple of months ago, but when the party was unexpectedly canceled, we ditched the recipe. So in the meantime, husband and I have been researching and making things with bourbon in hopes of using up the bottle. Finally we got back around to the recipe and I whipped up this cake for husband's birthday. We both loved the cake, it was chocolatey and had such a great ginger taste. I really loved the bourbon sauce, but husband wasn't so sure. The sauce recipe made more than enough and I'd happily eat again atop ice cream.
