The keyboard (#18/365)
I could talk to you all day about keyboards. My keyboard, in actual fact, may be the single most important object in my life. Is that sad?
Every day, I type. For 14 hours or more, each and every day, I type. To say that my keyboard is an umbilical cord would, rather shockingly, be an understatement.
This is the portal to my friends, and to the games I play. It is the portal to my office, and without it I would be jobless, or working in a cubicle somewhere like most other unfortunate humans.
It's been this way since I was about 9, when I first started programming and hanging out in the earliest of Internet chat rooms -- and I expect it will always will be. Until we get cerebral implants that interface with computers, anyway...

It's too BIG!
At least this only has about half an inch of bezel around it -- anything bigger probably wouldn't fit between laptop and mouse mat :)

Ive noticed how smooth your nails are. Mine are, but only after ive buffed em. they sustain too many knocks in the real world.

I think I have smooth nails for the same reason I'm smooth everywhere else -- I've sustained no real damage from the real world.
Seriously, most of my body parts look like they could belong to a baby or something.

I had this keyboard...and I too used the purple colour. But then I went wireless for both my home theater computer and my photo editing/gaming rig. I can't do wires anymore now (except my MS trackball, my Logitech trackball is wireless, though).

I'd like to try a trackball again. It's been so many years... and the mouse/trackball combos are a nice balance :)
originalpozer (27 months ago | reply)
I wouldn't (but I have to).....Trackballs are nearly non-existent with only a few companies making any variants still (Logitech and Kensington). Microsoft is still heralded as making the best trackball: Trackball Explorer (the one I use for "gaming"). And they want upwards to $600 for a sealed package one (used ones are $200) online since MS doesn't make them anymore.
While the Logitech one I have gets the job done....it's not "gaming" worthy and honestly, no one is going to make a trackball geared toward "gaming" since it's such a small market.

$600!
Who woulda thought it.
I'm sure you could find trackballs that are used for 'ergonomic' reasons... somewhere...
originalpozer (27 months ago | reply)
No $600 for just the MS trackball model (supply/demand thing). That's why I'm keeping mine in working condition since I won't be able to replace it (for cheap anyways), and I will cry when it finally breaks/dies.....
