So my employer decided that Japan is not safe right now and had me
(and a bunch of colleagues) temporarily moved to Hong Kong. We had a
few hours to get ready and then we were put on a plane. We are to wait
here until the situation in Japan has stabilized.
Part of me didn't want to go but at the same time I felt that if things would go really bad (read: nuclear radiation spreading in Japan) then I'd rather not be there when it happens.
When we arrived last night, Hong Kong was all covered in fog, and the rain just wouldn't stop falling. As I walked out on the streets this morning, with the rain on my face, breathing in the wet air, I could smell spices and food everywhere: sweet, fresh, fried, hot . . . It was so obvious that I wasn't in Japan anymore and so obvious that the Chinese love their food :)
