David Blaine: "Finish This"

I love this hand
David Blaine: "Finish This" by mrdarius.
David Blaine was answering reporters' questions using a magnetic pad. I wish I knew what this one asked him.

That's great. She probably asked something like, "What's your goal for this week?"

Yeah, he only went 7:08. Almost 2 minutes shy of the world record. Divers had to jump in and pull him out.

I guess he started to black out and was blowing bubbles out his mouth. I wasn't there, so this is based on reports I've read...

Congratulations! This image is currently one of Flickr's most interesting photos for 03 May 2006. (It is on page one of the calendar view.) Would you please add it to the Interestingness pool? It would be a great addition!

Is he trying to break the guinness world record or performing magic? If latter, why the need for a respirator? :S

mrdarius  Pro User  says:

He was trying to do both. For 7 days, he submerged himself underwater in a bubble. He used a respirator and survived on liquid nutrients. This stunt left him in severe pain, disoriented, and with major wrinkles. At the end of the 7 days, he tried to set the world record for holding his breath underwater for 9 minutes, while freeing himself of a set of chains (magic).

This picture was taken on his first day submerged. So, overall, he performed a stunt, magic, and an incredible feat.

I'm such a scuba geek that I looked at the large size to find out what brand of regulator he was using. (Oceanic I think?)

I think the reported said "In magic you are not good. But in stunts you are good. Are you finished with magic?" And he answered,"Finish this!" and then made a one finger salute
