February Photo Challenge: my view

My friends are fantastic. Tiffany and Stefanie decided to make my birthday special a day early. At Stefanie's direction they got a cake candelabra, and Tiffany made a rainbow cake (gluten free so she could eat it!) and surprised me with it at Portola. We shared cake with the baristas too. It was amazing.

I can't wait to see what 30 brings me.

I ended up picking dad up from the mechanic today and we decided to grab a beer at Danny K's. I've never been to Danny K's or grabbed a drink with Dad before. I have to say it was fun.

There's been a lot of family drama lately, but I know my family loves me and that's a pretty awesome thing.

Today was a good day, but a slightly heavy one.

First exciting (non heavy) thing of the day - my Made Shop linear calendar arrived!!!! I am now using the idea I read online to track your creative days by marking them on a calendar so you notice your productivity. My goal is to continue to commit to my life and ability as an artist and fill as many of the days on the calendar with at least one creative activity.

The slightly heavy activity of the day is actually represented by Stefanie's very eager photo. It was Ramon's benefit at TGIF Cerritos. Jonathon, Stefanie and I went and saw a ton of friends come out and support Ramon and Allison. Stefanie and I even won things in the raffle. But it definitely got heavy when the TGIF employees walked from table to table asking people to participate in the raffle for their terminally ill teammate. I know Ramon is stage 4, but it's hard to think of him as terminal. I still believe that God can heal if He wishes.

I'm spending a lot of time right now in contemplation, and that's leading to anxiety. I've decided to stop ignoring the elephant in the room and actually do something about it. The only way to get rid of the anxiety lately has been to journal it. It's a good thing I like to write.

Today Tiffany celebrated her birthday - with root beer cupcakes and a bounce house. It was pretty epic. Stefanie and I spent a lot of time in there bouncing with Tiffany's nieces and nephew - who the bounce house was supposed to be for. But frankly, I think the adults had way more fun with it - especially after dark. Five adults in a bounce house - you can launch each other pretty high. :)
