We will remember.........World Trade Center- August 2001
*Repost*
I know some of you guys have seen this image, or have commented on this. If you have, just take a moment to reflect. Ten years ago today our way of life was completely changed. One major event completely turn our world upside down. Still to this day, we still feel the effects of this tragedy. Just remember this day. We will never forget.
I just wanted people to know, that we will never forget the people of September 11, 2001. This photo is very special to me. I took this photo with my Pentax ZX-7(35mm). At the time I had no idea what I was doing with a camera. If I saw something that looked cool, I would just take the picture, but I never thought on this day that I took this image, that it would be my last time that I saw this amazing piece of architecture. If you get a moment, just take a second to reflect.

Wow, you were there in August '01... Back in 1990 I stayed at the Marriott hotel which was between the towers...I wanted to go to Windows on the World restaurant at the top. I really felt bad for all those who happened to be working that day. They were in the first tower to be hit. Would have been a long hour and a half before their drama was over.
I have friends just across the river in Brooklyn. Visited them in October while smoke was still ascending. I was surprised that some buildings that seemed so far away had to be covered in tarps due to damage from falling debris.

Great capture of an iconic building. I still get choked up when I think back to that day and watching it unfold on TV. My best wishes go to all the people who lost someone on that terrible day.

Great shot!
My wife and I stood on the top deck outside after they first opened it, they hadn't finished the last floor yet. I think it was in 87 ??
It was an awesome view !

Thanks so much for posting this photo. I grew up about 60 miles from NYC and the NYC skyline will never be the same without these buildings.

Amazing to see - I never had the chance to see these two towers in person. Love the patterns in the windows - it's all an illusion, but all the better!

Great comp here, David.
So many sorrows throughout history. Critical thinking skills is a task before us to make "sense" of it all. Thanks for sharing.

W0w, D I'm a native New Yorker so this has deep emotional ties with me.
Well I guess with the world over, but it just to me seems more sentimental.
You know I don't have any pictures of the towers in Digital!
Thanx for the flashback.

A sobering image. I still have a tough time watching television shows about 9/11 and usually change the channel pretty quickly. Travel safe and bring back great images.

Wow D! This brings a tear to my eye. Just watched a show on 9/11 last night that sparked some serious emotion. Very nicely captured. See you in Portland in about a month :P ???????!!!!??????

Man, I'll never forget what I did that day. It's totally weird---watching the reports these days has me getting the bumps like in 2001.
Safe travels buddy! Bring some winners home!

I was there almost exactly a year before 9/11 happened. I have a picture I took of the skyline as we are sailing of New York on a cruise ship hanging on my wall, I look at it quite often and it gives me pause. This btw is a great shot.
