@simplygeeky...the trick is to get out there the morning after the snowfall, before the wind gets up and blows all the fresh snow off the branches. and wear big rubber boots

I think I need to get big rubber boots and 4-wheel drive! I've got the perfect stream picked out for a photo like this, but it's down a winding gravel road that I would be too afraid to drive on after a big snow in my wimpy car. I've tried going out there after the snow melts a little, but your right, the key is to get there right after the snow falls. Maybe someday :)

Mind / eye overload as always. Lovely scene captured here and works well in monochrome.

One question though - about the relative out of focus areas in the image. Was this a lens-baby or some effect of mist on the filter/end element?

    41. gainesp2003 (64 months ago | reply)

Beautiful perspective and light. I love the black and white, and the wide angle lens work!

    42. Peter Bowers (64 months ago | reply)

@martinprothero...I selectively blurred the edges in Capture NX

    43. Peter Bowers (64 months ago | reply)

@halmorgan...the creek was quite shallow at this point, I was able to just wear rubber boots. I also have chest waders for deeper water.

An interesting landscape subject, Peter...and a fine photograph of it.

      Nicely done.
