The View From Here

At the top. Jr and Bubba

The Lightning Ridge Nature Trail is 0.7 miles long loop trail. It begins and ends at Inspiration Point. The parking lot at Blue Ridge point is at elevation 7381. The Santa Ana winds were strong and the air was cold. We once hiked this while it was snowing and for this hike it was much colder. The view from behind this amazing to the left out of view is Mt. Baden-Powell and the deep gorge of the San Gabriel River’s east fork is behind and below them. Because of the wind Jr was unwilling to get much closer to the edge for a better picture. (The wind was not that strong) I did get pictures of the scale, depth and view but in this I was attempting to get the clouds.
