Highway to Nowhere

Highway to Nowhere

The thought of driving the Nullabor crossing can be quite daunting - 2700km (minimum) over a few days with very few places to visit on the way. It's not something you can do without adequate rest and, I would suggest, good company.

Moonrise over Streaky Bay

Moonrise over Streaky Bay

We were just getting ready for bed when the moon rose over the other side of the bay. With a quick setup I was able to get some shots before it got too far above the horizon.

Long way from Home

Long way from Home

Being in the remote parts of Australia, I was keen to get some shots that portrayed this. We didn't see many red sandy desert areas, but there were certainly some vast expanses. This one close to the Southern coastline on Eyre peninsula.

About one day's drive West of Adelaide is Streaky Bay, a peaceful inlet great for camping and fishing. Out on the peninsula, however, the Southern Ocean is wild and the landscape a lot different. Well worth the extra drive.
