Rob below the summit of West Crane Mountain, Adirondacks, NY

West Crane is a low effort and generally quick bushwhack up a somewhat open (deforested) ridge. It I has almost nearly 360 degree views from various viewpoints and ledges on and below the summit.

From the summit you can see Vermont, the Catskills and the High Peaks of the Adirondacks.

Between the grand views from and fun hiking options, Crane is one of the Adirondacks most interesting peaks.

definitely, crane is both mine and the Adirondack exploring, Barbara McMartin's, favorite peak in the lower half of the park. Just an amazing place to recreate. Hiking, rock and ice climbing, skiing, camping, and even a little caving.
