after a hard but rewarding day the bridge is open again for service. While some work remains to be done after Christmas the bridge again privides a safe crossing for the many hundreds of walkers who use this section of trail. Thanks to the fourteen volunteers who turned out today and to the Wicklow Way management partnership for the resources that made this project possible - A credit to all.
Today the Meitheal Crew (assisted by Dave Ward) anchored the bridge on the south side, added additional deck, constructed a stone path leading from the bridge and repaired the damaged trail.
Today Mountain Meitheal added an additional trail to work as part of the Wicklow Way Partnership to restore the this importnmat before the Christmas "rush". Yesterday contractor Dave Ward working with Pat Mellon to place RSJs and replace part of the bridge.
