Thanks sandiskboy, got my first DSLR a couple of months ago.. after numerous compacts... loving it, Flikr is a great teacher... viewed your waterfalls, they are very good, any tips?

Thanks, ouldm01. As far as waterfalls go I'm no expert but I'll tell you what I know.
1. Make sure the area is fairly dark so you can get a slow shutter speed without burning the highlights.
2. The amount of steamy effect depends not only on the shutter speed but the rate the water is flowing. Start with about a quarter of a second then adjust up or down for the effect you want.
3. Be what you are! They are your photos and you should create images that you personally like.

Ha Ha... both were taken within about five feet of each other... about a month apart.. this one looking east towards Ben Lomond and the other looking west towards Aberfoyle.. thanks... being on flikr is encouraging for a novice!!
