I saw this on Sunday morning posted to flickr. My wife and I stayed at Costanoa down the road. We went to the lighthouse on Sunday, so I could find the spot you took this image.

I think I found the spot you took this image. On the mound next to the benches just left of the photo display building. That was a great spot and a terrific shot.

My shots from that Sat. night didn’t turn out this fantastic. Great shot look forward to seeing more.

What a beautiful shot! I wish I had known that they were lighting it this weekend, I would have loved to get some shots of it myself.

On a side note, this amazing lighthouse is in serious danger. It is in desperate need of restoration and it has already begun to fall apart. Unfortunately, the state has no money to begin the repairs, but the California State Parks Foundation is spearheading an effort to raise the necessary funds. If you enjoy the photos of this beautiful lighthouse, please donate what you can afford to the fund to save and preserve this majestic historical monument:

Fine lighting and perspective here - the stars really put this shot into another dimension. Only question that worries me: Why this insane high ISO setting? Couldnt this be done with a longer exposure time at lower ISO? ;o)

Harpagornis - This definitely could have been done at a lower ISO. I don't have a remote though, so 30 seconds would have been my longest exposure. With the limited time that there was to shoot this before the lights began moving (5 minutes), one of the things I tried was using a higher ISO and shorter exposure time...it was my only shot that came out...
