bento lunch 020509
I'd planned on making another version of orange-beet salad, but after I'd sliced the orange into supremes, I found the beets were spoiled. So instead, I made it into a Moroccan inspired carrot & orange salad with scallions, sherry vinegar, cumin, cinnamon, mint, salt, pepper, and some gomashio sprinkled on top. Then teeny saucy meatballs, steamed green beans with a little butter & salt, and misshapen & fantastically yummy sushi with the last of the lobster, avacado, scallion, and julienned simmered shiitake. A bit of pickled ginger, and a soy dipping sauce.
This took a long time what with making the rice and the beans, but it was pleasant work, and altogether worth it. Commentsjuanknowsspanish says:I agree your bentos are always beautiful, if
only I could get mine to look so nice :) Mosaica says:Thank you both very much :-) I love how
yours look juanknowsspanish! The salad was
very tasty, and I used leftovers in a really
excellent vegetable stew --the bit of acid
really perked up the stew :-) 美莲 (meilian) says:Mosaica, if *I* can sell *my* bentos, then
*you* definitely can! goblinbox (queen of ad hoc bento)
