Would Jeff be the older gentleman?

Yes. Jeff is a little older than I am. And, he's much more colorful :-)

I say the following with great respect for your work, Peter.
Is that graphic design, or illustration? I think the wall may come down faster when members of the greater design community (graphic designers included) look at graphic designers as visual problem solvers and not the people that make the pretty pictures or color in the wireframe.

The discipline is graphic design and the specialized skill utilized in the drawing of this image is illustration. Not sure if I see the problem there, but I do agree with the positioning of designers as visual problem solvers.

I am reading ginx.com/-3xtt# - nice article on this! :) Thanks!

Personally, as a graphic designer, I think illustration is just another set of tools the designer (totally agree about the "visual problem solvers" label) has at his/her disposal, it doesn't necessarily means he, or she, is just the guy that draws the pretty pictures. ;)
Anyway, lovely . lovely image!

Just stumbled on this, I'm trying to become more vocal on the topic of breaking down such walls and optimizing user experience teams. Wondering if you can point me to more articles of other people that share a similar vision?
