This was a hole in the glacier created by a stream of melted ice. It went all the way through the glacier, and down to the rock below. After rappelling down, we discovered that there was a large dome under the ice, possibly a recurring feature of this glacier due to a formation in the rock. We even found two other ways out. The glacier is Bøverbreen, a small arm of Smørstabbreen in Jotunheimen, Norway.
