Ha ha ha today I finally received an email of confirmation from James, lead singer of Additional Moog that this image being officially on their 3rd album,
Thirty Three & A Third

----
Just before we reached this spot, we made a wrong turn on a town called, "Hill Spring". Right from the get go I knew it was a wrong way but I decided to continue anyway for couple of KM. Fortunately, the road we were heading to is a dead end. Not a big deal, it's part of driving in the country side.

This is a typical Alberta Secondary roads; it's absolutely empty and we probably encountered no more than 2 vehicles in this entire stretch of road. On the other way of this road is facing this magnificent Wind Turbines

I spent several attempts before I settled to this settings. I went to B&W and Duotoned...but at the end, this is the best one that I feel captured the mood as I have scene at the time.

thanks everyone for the nice comments!

Btw, I did a last minute description of the entire scene just this morning. I was bit tired last night to get it done and my brain was fully dilluted with the Post Processing work on this shot.

@borelnz, the bronze color is pretty unique on these grasses. Artizen HDR made it more drammatic with the toning.

@schimillar77, as I mentioned on my description, I tried B&W first but I couldnt get the right touch to keep the dramatic clouds. and youre right those clouds are gorgeous

Wow ang galing sir. This is very excellent. I love the symmetry of the two poles - I think that doesn't happen very often. And nice use of HDR too. (Hahaha alam ko na ngayon ang HDR - ng kunti:)

thanks Rob, its been pretty weird the last couple days here. last night was worst, too many trees uprooted, 120-180Kph wind! should have stayed for a bit longer and give me ring next time

nice tagalog, it should be "Eto ang beer, beer na beer" remember that next time you visit home

Not a huge fan of HDR, but this one looks really good! Maybe cause it's not so freaky lookin like some other HDRs I've seen.

@defrosterj, thanks for the nice comments. well ever since I started doing HDR, I always opt for the "True Toned HDR" effect and just like you are I am not a big fan of the extreme toned. There is a fine balance of getting a nice touch of increasing the Dynamic range of a picture than going opposite. I think my style is more suited for the most part as Dynamic Range Increase

Chief mountain used to be a "spirit" mountain, where First Nations would go on their spirit quests. You still need official permission to climb it, although I can't say how rigorously that's enforced.

Strange, there is a road I often drive along, not far from the city of Orange, in NSW, Australia, which looks so much like this place.

Its not a dead end though, but it does merge with another road that leads to the village of Spring Hill.

The way the photo is foreshortened to fit the desktop, only allows a view of the left hand peak of the hills on the right, which adds to the similarity, as it looks like the view of Mt Conobolas, the local high point, that you would see from this particular spot.

Nice......What's your true WORTH for a photo you ask?, well, as an Award Winning Photographer:
Here's a simple but Extremely useful test for all you Flickr Photogs
to determine whether your shots are COMMERCIALLY VIABLE :-)
Take an unframed / framed photo and put it on the street for sale,
pick a few random passersby to ask how much they would pay for it,
specially, if their answer is "I don't need to buy a photo"...........
if you're satisfied with whatever they ARE willing to pay for it
regardless........then THAT's your TRUE WORTH for that photo!.
As far as what MAKES a Great photo?, a few things in short.....in this ---> Order: Composition / Content / Lighting / Focus , Symmetry (watch out for SPOILERS like jagged edges, off frame Subjects / Objects sticking in the frame and distractions such as a piece of crumpled paper in what otherwise amounted to be a calm and peaceful scene.
Wider fields and greater Depth, Colors / Tone / White Balance
and Shades.
Highlights should not be washed out and Shadows should not be overcast! (unless of course the intent is such) to find the right BALANCE between the two is true GENIUS!.
Either, number of objects has to be as many as possible in a
frame or, even if it is just ONE object, you have to have as many
sub objects as possible, for instance you could shoot a landscape
with lots of trees clouds and fields with shades of sunlight and a
barnyard in the distance with maybe a windmill at sunset,
that gives you enough objects, OR JUST have a tree in a photo
but if the tree shows finer details in leaves and branches and
ribs and veins, you've got yourself a great photo as well. Another good example would be, Sand, which by itself is just that, SAND!, but if the photo also shows the fine details in hundreds and thousands of sand grains taken at right angles with proper lighting and the right focus, you end up getting a great shot!
So, a compromise between many objects in a single frame OR just one object with attention to details....Last but not least is…. Sharpening, it’s an art to do this , (always zoom to 100% BEFORE sharpening) do not over or undersharpen the image, Unless the intent was such
Always resize the image BEFORE sharpening. And Remember to take your shots from a spot most others can't get to, or time, most others are sleeping, after all there are Millions of people taking pictures of Statue of Liberty or Times Square why should anyone pay for or look at your pics? Unless of course it's RADICALLY different or taken from a 100 story building.......Hanging upside down, :-)
Good Luck to ALL and…Happy Snapping!! :-)
