@ Kaippally:: The photo was touched up a little using a default photo packaging software package- the contrast was raised a little, and the saturation lifted as well. Nothing too pronounced. The contrast itself was like that though- I have been in plenty of deserts where there is no contrast and the dust in the air wipes everything out, but on this particular visit, it was winter, and the air was dry and clear, and we were there in the late afternoon, when the sun was low and the details and ripples stood out like that. We got seriously lucky! It was an amazing place to be. :o)
