Minneapolis Winter Cherry , Spoonbridge, Minnesota

    Newer Older

This famous sculpture in the Minneapolis sculpture garden got a nice sugar like topping of snow when I was visiting in the heart of winter.. It is one super frozen cherry in the months of December thru March. It is titled "Spoonbridge and Cherry" by Claes Oldenburg. The Basilica of St. Mary's church is in the background. If you get cold there is a hot house full of tropical flowers you can pop into for free just a few steps away from this famous utensil of art.

I was married in that church. Water sprays out the stem of the cherry in the warm months.
