Rocky Mountain Dawn, Teton National Park by moonjazz

Rocky Mountain Dawn, Teton National Park

Teton morning mist hangs low after a night of rain showers. At first the peaks were invisiible but slowly as the sun rose the mighty mountains unveiled there glory in snow capped bliss. These are not the highest of the Rockies but perhaps the most famous and certain worth of their fame. This is a early summer view and they stay dressed in snow most of the year. Traveling here you get a bonus in that you can drive two hours north to enjoy the great Yellowstone National Park as well as enjoy the wonders, animals, lakes, wild rivers and famous vistas of mother natures breasts as the French named them long ago.

I Give Smiles Away for Free! by moonjazz

I Give Smiles Away for Free!

Sometimes you need a smile and our furry friends are just the ones we need to cheer us up. This cute fellow was hanging out with his owner and friends at a street festival.
He or she was so darn happy I couldnt resist taking a photography so I could remember this perfect smile. This is one of those little blessings of life that we need to help us get through the down days and to appreciate the good ones.

California Girl Talk, Beach Beauty Reflections by moonjazz

California Girl Talk, Beach Beauty Reflections

When low tide comes its fun to walk at the beach and get your feet wet strolling
on a sandy Beach in southern California. Chat with a friend or bring a frisbee,
ball, or beach toys to make a castle. The best part of hanging out at the shore
is people watching, sunset gazing and jumping in the surf. So bring you
swimsuit, speedo, shorts and towel and come on down to the shore. Even if
its not a sunny day like this one you are guarenteed to have a good time walking
or jogging on or under the boardwalk. On days like this you want to hum a Beach
Boys song " I wish they all could be California girls" might be a good tune for
this image.

Red Rock, Blue Sky, Colours of the Earth by moonjazz

Red Rock, Blue Sky, Colours of the Earth

Red rock vista is a part of the beach trail at Torrey Pines Park. Its sits on top of much softer sandstone below it and protects it like a hard shell cap. Its only a five minute hike to here from the visitors center but a great spot to take in the broader views of the whole park that looks out over the ocean and ragged cliffs and to the north is the famous golf course. Its one of southern California's best nature parks and well worlth spending some of your vacation time for a morning or even a whole day if you include a walk on the beach and a swim on warmer days. There are three nature trails each one is easy for families and all have beautiful views of the shoreline and you will smell the sage brush and relax to the crash of waves. A great park to explore and if you have time take in the little visitor center which has friendly guides and insight on the birds, animals, plants and unique trees that make this park thier home.

Blue Ice, Glacier Power, Alaska Kenai Fjord National Park by moonjazz

Blue Ice, Glacier Power, Alaska Kenai Fjord National Park

At the tip of the Kenai Peninsula lies a land where the ice age still lingers. In Kenai Fjords, glaciers, earthquakes, and ocean storms are the architects. Kenai Fjords National Park is a United States National Park established in 1980 by the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. The park covers an area of approximately 1,760 mi2 on the Kenai Peninsula in southcentral Alaska, near the town of Seward. The park contains the Harding Icefield, one of the largest ice fields in the United States. The park is named for the numerous fjords carved by glaciers moving down the mountains from the ice field. The field is the source of at least 38 glaciers, the largest of which is Bear Glacier. You can take a cruise through the park like I did years back when I got this icy image. The crack and thunder when the ice shelf giives a calf iceburg is tremendous. You will also see lots of wildlife and artic birds on this trip.
