Going Underground

Going Underground by Monster..
Some people might get some pleasure out of hate
Me, I’ve enough already on my plate
People might need some tension to relax
[me? ] I’m too busy dodging between the flak

What you see is what you get
You’ve made your bed, you better lie in it
You choose your leaders and place your trust
As their lies wash you down and their promises rust
You’ll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns

And the public wants what the public gets
But I don’t get what this society wants
I’m going underground, (going underground)
Well the brass bands play and feet start to pound
Going underground, (going underground)
[so] let the boys all sing and the boys all shout for tomorrow

I love this - the graceful shape of the undulating corridor walls, the colors, the light off the metal treads on the stairs. Very nice!

Thanks all.

Terri - Going Underground was a hit by an British band called The Jam. I wish I had...

Snippet of music here : www.gearchange.org/descriptions/The%20Jam%20- %20Going%20U...

I have just read that in 1980 this was The Jam's first No. 1 hit and the first record to go straight to No. 1 since Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody in 1973...

I love this. Going Underground is a special song for me - when I qualified as a lawyer a bunch of us went out on the razzle (to Martine's in Pompey in fact) and I got the DJ to play this as a request. I nearly got in a scrap with a bloke who was bashing into me (remember slam-dunking or whatever they called it?) which would have been a cracking start to my legal career!

Thanks for the link Steve. I gave the song a listen, but had not heard it before. I guess I was busy being pregnant in 1980 when it was recorded. :)

truly a great capture, if i could fav within my favs this one would be right up there.

tube steps are typically so mundane, people walk on them everyday, never give them a second thought. the turquoise, the reflections from the steps and the stairs. i'm right there, fantastic.

Hey Steve! I love this image. So wonderful from something so ordinary (but, of course, not so ordinary in Seattle - the most backward mass-transit city that I know of... but I digress...).

I think the colors are great and especially the way you accented the waves with your framing. Excellent!

And thank you so much for your visit to my photostream. I appreciate your comments a great deal!
