Typography: Principles of Business Data Processing, SRA, 1970

Bought for the cover, the graphics. Thrifted. Great typography by illustration designer, Barbara Ravizza for book cover: Principles of Business Data Processing. Published by Science Research Asociates, Inc. , a subsidiary of IBM. 1970. I bought this book for the cover, having no knowledge of, nor interest in data processing of 1970 or today. SOLD! (to me). I love it.

So true, Kola. I am in love with this graphic, so it is an eternal triangle: design + concept + monkeysox = ? Somehow, art and design can give such a sense of emotional satisfaction and balance as well as visual pleasure.

carson.a, the inside pages start with a copy of this design in an burnt orange with the type just a couple shades lighter; the title is in white, and the SRA logo, the address and a few lines of info are in black. I want to do something like this in a screenprint or other kind of print and frame it, hang it on one of my walls.
