We were looking for someplace different to get lunch when we came across a woman photographing this dish. She was right by the window. The restaurant was a small Venezuelan one. I poked my head in and told her that I take photos of food, too.
We went in and checked out the menu. The prices were good. I also photographed the dish that the woman was spending some time photographing. It's Pabellon Criollo, shredded beef, white rice, black beans, and fried sweet plantains. It's good, no, better than good, it's delicious.
I even posed for a photo with the dish. I got to taste it then. It turned out that the woman was a reporter for a Venezuelan newspaper and she was doing a story on Venezuelan restaurants in NYC.
