Vegan Chicken Banh Mi

Vegan Chicken Banh Mi by Harris Graber.
The usual banh mi has meat; roast pork and a kind of Vietnamese sausage. This one has vegan chicken, no meat. It's from Viet-Nam Banh Mi So 1 at 369 Broome Street in Manhattan.

This was the first time I tried this kind. It was delicious, especially after I added a bit of chili sauce.

Wow, looks good. What kind of bread is that? I don't usually eat Vietnamese (we have like three Vietnamese restaurants in Stockholm, maximum)

@samvarians: It's a baguette showing the French influence in Vietnam. Banh mi are generally street food rather than restaurant fare, but I've noticed a few restaurants here serving them. I suppose it's because they've become a little popular.

Most of the places here in NYC that make banh mi are small Vietnamese groceries or tiny places that specialize in banh mi, but are only for take out.

@prettypeach: I found it the first time I looked, so no problem. Otherwise, I would have missed the gallery. So, it all worked out just fine. Thanks.
