Robert, nice to see you're back in the garden, planting new things. I love it when you have delphiniums in your backyard.

Seen in Southern California Gardens.

Robert, along with the herb garden I also had a 'blue garden' and delphiniums were the stars. I was even able to get them to bloom a second time. These remind me of that garden. Just beautiful. I'm inspired to start both again.( I have planted the delphiniums four years in a row, but they never come back in this yard.)

Jan, any azulophile such as yourself would certainly grow Delphiniums for their brilliant blue and purple hues and stately majestic form. I'm not sure how hardy they are in your winter climate. I have difficulties with regrowth myself (usually snail/slug related), and resort to growing them as annuals here in California. Don't grow them as often as I used to, but they do seem worthy of seasonal replacement with nursery plants, just for that added drama they provide the garden.
