Here's a picture of me wearing my muffatees - fingerless mittens. I make this type with 5-6 different types of yarn to create a "bear claw" kind of super soft and warm feel, while still allowing my fingers to work. An essential when I'm doing outdoor winter shows.
In my hands you'll also notice some of my handmade crochet hooks. This photo was taken at East Austin Studio Tour in 2010 while I was demoing about crochet hooks and their different shapes which allow for different techniques in crochet. Too many people don't realize what they are able to create isn't just about the yarn, but about their tools! If you are ever struggling with a yarn you are working with, try a different kind of tool before you give up!
