As I was leaving the square, I was shocked to see a body was lying on the floor covered with a sleeping bag. At first I thought It was a dead body, but a snoring sound came out from the body gave me a relief. It was a terrible scene. Just across the street, there were people living their happy life enjoying the morning while there's a homeless made a sidewalk as his home.

We left the square heading towards Notre Dame.

The meeting

The meeting

For some senior citizen, Place des Vosges is a place to have a group meeting. It looks like a club or society for retired citizen who lives nearby. I'm not sure what is the meeting about since I was standing far away. I took this picture just before leaving the square.

Playtime!

Playtime!

A late comer with complete gear was looking for a spot to built his sand castle. It seems like it is a routine for the children living nearby to play at the square every Saturday morning.

Sandbox

Sandbox

Sandbox was installed at the playing area in the square where children can play and encourages creative thinking at the early stage of development. This Asian girl was playing by herself while her mother was talking to a friend.

Apart from Africa, there are many people from Asia as well that have settled in France for generations. Most of the Asians that have been living in France or at least their ancestors were from Indochina during French colonisation.

Tranquil garden

Tranquil garden

People from all ages spend their time at Place des Vosges. It is a calming place where people can just come and clear their mind from work and study. It is also the right place for friends to meet and catch up with each other. For mothers, it is a place to bring their children for a walk or play.

As we found the place was calming, we took our time to refresh ourselves after quite a long walk from our hostel.
